Bloomer's Nursery

Time to Plant!

The nursery is packed with new trees and shrubs. The first of the perennials are here in 4" pots. A good value. They grow to gallon size in one season. If you need landscape help, I am available for an in house consultation by appointment. It costs $45.00 and you get a voucher for $45.00 worth of plants. Hooray for Spring!

Four Fun Workshops March 11th-14th

I will be doing four information packed workshops at the Eugene Home
and Garden Show March 11th through the 14th. I'd like to invite you to
attend, ask questions and introduce yourself.

Thursday, March 11th, 6:00PM: PACIFIC NORTHWEST STYLE: Giving your
garden a sense of place.
Friday, March 12th, 6:30PM: MAKE MORE: Simple ways to make more plants
for your garden.
Saturday, March 13th, 2:00PM: SENSUOUS GARDENS: Planting for scent,
texture, and sensual pleasure.
Sunday, March 14th, 2:00PM: LANDSCAPING ON A BUDGET: 15 practical,
money-saving tips for landscaping on a budget and the "how to" for
each one.

These were great fun to work on. Pacific Northwest Style really got
me to thinking about bioregions: how they are defined and how gardens
are so much more than a collection of plants. Gardens are truly an art
form and can be used to explore ideas about place and time.
Landscaping on a Budget was also a blast because over the years (by
necessity! ) I have gathered up a lot of practical ideas about how to
do things on a tight budget. Which made me feel smart. But more
importantly, I realized that same tight budget forced me to be more
creative, and as a result, have more fun in my garden!
Sensuous Gardens. What other kind are there really? Just naming and
showing pictures of those plants lets me luxuriate in their scents and
textures and colors and all that other vicarious wonderfulness we
gardeners enjoy.
Make More is from my practical side. It's about digging and dividing
and layering and cutting. Even after all these years, I remain amazed
by the biology of propagation. Hope to see you there.
